RENEWABLE ENERGY

Many people who are lacking access to electricity across sub-Saharan Africa are living in rural areas. Use of wood for fuel is already creating environmental and health problems, especially in the Sahel. Volunteers of Africa works to provide alternative, sustainable, renewable energy options to communities.

ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER

Globally, millions live without easy access to clean, safe drinking water. Clean water is an essential element for human health, well-being and prosperity. Whether used for drinking, cleaning, food production or industrial output, Volunteers of Africa works with a variety of partners to bring clean water to communities that need it most.

SUSTAINABLE HOUSING

With growing populations and current challenges with poverty, Volunteers of Africa continues to strive to find new strategies for dealing with the challenge of housing.

AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

The need for access to sufficient and sustainable options for nutrition can be improved through innovative agricultural and farming techniques. Volunteers of Africa partners with local communities to implement sustainable options to provide for dietary needs.

MEDICAL AND PRIMARY CARE

Ensuring all citizens equal and equitable access to health care remains a daunting challenges for many African countries. Volunteers of Africa partners with medical facilities to not only bring in much needed supplies but to also build medical facilities, and train individuals in the community on providing medical care. Without the essential training, facilities and supplies, many individuals in rural communities have no medical treatment available. With the training provided, individuals in communities are given an opportunity to serve their community and obtain employment.
